Virotec has taken out a top eco-friendly award recognising its innovative technologies and successful treatment of contaminated soil and water.
Virotec won the Environmental Management awards at the Gold Coast Business Excellence Awards, recognised for its sustainable contribution to the environment, impressive client list and tangible results.
The timely win coincides with a recent growth phase at Virotec including further development the world leading technologies and the completion of major projects in Burnie.
This includes the clean-up of a mercury contaminated site in Tasmania and the remediation of a contaminated soil site at the disused manufacturing site in South Australia which ensured the treated site met strict regulations for resale.
Virotec is one of only a handful of Australian companies who have had success in the remediation of mercury contaminated soil.
Virotec technology is second to none when it comes to the remediation of mercury contaminated soils and sludge as a solution to heavy mental contamination.
Other recent projects for Virotec include the treatment of benzopyrene contaminated soil in Victoria allow the site to be redeveloped successfully and prolonging the life of the land despite previous contamination.
A successful field trail for the bioremediation of hydrocarbon contaminated sludge has lead Virotec to secure a contract in the Philippines region.
